Hairspray and Hypocrisy

from The Cart Before the Horse by Jonathon Smith

/

lyrics

I've read how skeptics have been led to belief,
So what's happened that the church has made a skeptic out of me?
Is it the hairspray, or the hypocrisy, of the chosen few
That makes me question my devotion to you?

Are we foolish in the eyes of the world for the faith that we embrace,
Or the lies that we live?

I've read how skeptics have been led to belief,
So what's happened that the church has made a skeptic out of me?
Is it the lack of charity, or Trinity Broadcasting,
That makes me question so, like i do?

It has to be better than all the gossip,
Better than the backstabbing,
Better that the fashion show that fills our pews every Sunday

Are we foolish in the eyes of the world for the faith that we embrace,
Or the lies that we live?
