Sometimes I Take Myself Too Seriously

by Jonathon Smith

1.
I guess it seems unfair, we have to deal with pain and hurt Maybe pain is just a way to measure joy's worth Don't let it kill you; you can't see what lies ahead It seems like God made more pain than love But there's good in everything, if we look hard enough
2.
Drowning in despair, still searching within Never gazing past the stain of sin Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, Your light remains Scandals earn their place deep within our hearts Where Yours lost it rightful part I know we're Christians so why can't we get along? They'll know we're Christians by our love But why can't we get along?
3.
I guess it's your second Christmas without him There's nothing I could really give you But honor and peace of mind I wish I could bring him back and have Christmas together Would it all be worthwhile or do you need closure? Maybe we can have Christmas together And celebrate its real meaning For it's in the failure of man that we have need for God
