The Cart Before the Horse

If you ask everyone, They will concur that wedding bells always bring happiness But don't ask everyone you know, because sometimes they are wrong If you're sure it's not right to remain, Then it's better now than never for severing those ties with her. I've been torn myself, An anguish no one was privy to see, so I understand.

It's so easy to fight every fight, Trying to prove that you are right I know sarcastic jabs aren't really worth it, So I can't let these feelings fester under my skin Maybe it's the way you look at me, Or maybe it's that these feelings aren't really worth it, baby. Don't you know that when I get angry, girl, I can't stay angry for long with you? It's so easy to fight every fight, Trying to prove that you are right If I can gain perspective, then I will see We're not so far apart, after all, are we?

Time now steal away Moments, minutes, hours, and days Fading into the grey. Fleeting, flying, they pass away And like a lost kite with its trailing string, Everything sails by And like the earth's crust as it turns to dust In the winds of time Feel the days now blowing by Slipping, sliding, they make you sigh Tomorrow will draw you nigh Searching, seeking for reasons why

Does it take a risk to reap a reward? Oh, I can't allow my heart to be crushed anymore. Maybe I'm scared just a little bit. But I wanna if you like me. If so, I wanna know because I'm scared of rejection. Could I be your lover for a day If all my feelings, you'd reciprocate?

Can you hear me, or have you gone deaf, Anesthetized in your hospital bed? You always wanted me happy and married, But now you'll never get a chance To ever see me with her I guess I'll get just this one chance To tell you she'd be one of the best granddaughters you never had You always wanted me happy and married, But now you'll never get a chance To ever see me with her

I've read how skeptics have been led to belief, So what's happened that the church has made a skeptic out of me? Is it the hairspray, or the hypocrisy, of the chosen few That makes me question my devotion to you? Are we foolish in the eyes of the world for the faith that we embrace, Or the lies that we live? I've read how skeptics have been led to belief, So what's happened that the church has made a skeptic out of me? Is it the lack of charity, or Trinity Broadcasting, That makes me question so, like i do? It has to be better than all the gossip, Better than the backstabbing, Better that the fashion show that fills our pews every Sunday Are we foolish in the eyes of the world for the faith that we embrace, Or the lies that we live?

about

I've occasionally performed under the name, My Science Fiction Twin. For a couple years, we had a consistent lineup with my step-brother, Dan, and my friend, Paul.

If my memory serves me, we were scheduled to play a few shows in the summer of 2007 and we wanted to have something, anything, to sell. (Because we were obviously going to make so much money.) So I decided to cobble together a few tracks of the tracks we had started recording and name this EP, The Cart Before the Horse. Few people ever bought the EP. Fewer still got the joke.

The album was never finished. It's sort of mixed, and I'm sure there are plenty of mistakes. I'm not even sure this is the track order that we had discussed. I know that "Let You Go" has lyrics. But since I can't find the recording with vocals, I'm including the instrumental track here.

I hope you can enjoy what we started.
